PETE JENSON: You can always rely on Sergio Ramos. Real Madrid’s captain gave away a penalty but then headed in a last-minute normal-time equaliser that helped his team win Tuesday night’s European Super Cup in Trondheim.
Full-back Dani Carvajal got the extra-time winner with a mazy run down the right and a shot past Sevilla keeper Sergio Rico to give Zinedine Zidane his second trophy in three months.
It looked as if Sevilla had done to Real Madrid what they had done to Liverpool to win the Europa League when they came from behind but they were pegged back by Ramos’ late header and beaten by Carvajal’s fine winner.
That's all from me, folks. Have a great evening.

FULL-TIME! REAL MADRID 3-2 SEVILLA (AET)
A late goal at the end of normal time, a late goal at the end of extra-time. Real Madrid win the European Super Cup, and it's heartbreak again for Sevilla!

GOAL! REAL MADRID 3-2 SEVILLA (Carvajal 119)
Heartbreak for Sevilla as defender Dani Carvajal produces a brilliant solo goal to win the European Super Cup for Real Madrid! It's surely all over now.
He won the ball from Konoplyanka almost on the halfway line, before driving towards goal. Player after player, the Spain international skipped through all the way into the area, before clipping the ball past Rico with the outside of the boot.
Suspect defending, yes, but you can't take anything away from Carvajal's impressive work. Another trophy is in Real Madrid's grasp.

118mins: Every one of these updates seems to be a Real Madrid shot by a different player. The latest: Casemiro, lining one up from 25 yards out. It's low and hard, but Rico gets down to it again. He can be very proud of his performance...

Is this man going to have to pick some penalty takers soon?
