Nigerian Military Kills Scores Of Terrorists In Borno Raid

The Nigerian military seems to be recording more success in their fight against terrorism in northern Nigera as the Defence Headquarters announced on Friday 27 June, 2014 that more than 50 suspected terrorists were killed during a raid on a makeshift camp in Miyanti and Bulungu in Borno State.
According to a statement posted on the website of the Defence Headquarters, no fewer than 50 terrorists died in the encounter which caused the military the lives of two of their men and five others received injuries.
It was gathered that a fuel dump used for storing fuel, vehicles, including Toyota Hilux trucks, and seven motorcycles were destroyed in the raid.
The statement also informed that15 rifles, 11 machine guns and ammunitions were captured by the soldiers.

“In a separate encounter around Duguri, near the Nigeria–Niger border, troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force stormed a terrorists’ hideout in a raid.
“The troops recovered 18 rifles, five general purpose machine guns, 25 hand grenades and IED making materials,’’ the statement read.
It was also stated that a suspected gun runner was captured ed and was being interrogated in connection with the seizures.
The suspect was said to be arrested during a cordon and search operation by troops.
The statement said that 15 other suspects were being detained in Abuja after a raid that led to the recovery of seven rifles, pistols, swords and other weapons.
