Chelsea are reportedly set to show their trust in unsettled manager Antonio Conte by giving him a £250million transfer budget to sign top targets such as Romelu Lukaku and Leonardo Bonucci this summer

There have been reports of tension between Conte and Blues owner Roman Abramovich in the last couple of days, with the Italian frustrated that the club won’t spend what it takes to sign the players he wants.

However, the Daily Mirror now claim that the row has settled and Chelsea are ready to hand their manager a whopping transfer kitty to strengthen his squad for next season.

The Premier League champions are expected to complete deals for Romelu Lukaku and Tiemoue Bakayoko, while they are also keen to make moves for Juventus pair Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro.

That might not the end of Chelsea’s spending either, with Conte known to be determined to significantly improve the side he inherited upon taking over at Stamford Bridge last season.

Chelsea won the Premier League in the 47-year-old’s first season in charge, but he is well aware that the squad will need more depth to adjust to the challenge of Champions League football in 2017/18.

Chelsea could also do with renewing the contracts of key duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, whose futures have not yet been resolved.
