No fewer than twenty-three people lost their lives in a tragic motor accident which occurred along Calabar-Awi-Akamkpa Expressway of the state in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The ghastly accident occurred at the wee hours of Wednesday, involving a gold Picnic car and a 14-seater Hiace bus.
It was gathered that the bus was coming from Ikom with about 18 passengers while the Picnic mini bus was carrying six passengers returning from a burial of one of their friends in the northern part of the state.
It was learnt that the Hiace bus had a head on collision with the Picnic car leading to the death of seven persons on the spot, while the rest died later.
