Odachi, a serving corp member, was allegedly assaulted by a policewoman. She will plans to seek redress in the law courts, in order to teach her supposed assaulter a lesson.
A female youth corper, Odachi Abah, who was allegedly assaulted by a female police officer in Lagos has threatened to seek justice in the court of law.
Narrating her ordeal in an interview with BellaNaija Odachi said the incident happened on  Wednesday 8th of October 2014 when she was returning from Oshodi-Isolo LGA with her friend, one Maduka Benson.
Odachi says she would seek justice from the courts to ensure that the policeman pays for "the consequences of her actions.”
Official Assault?
Trouble started after their car, a Honda driven by Maduka, developed a fault and the policewoman, on traffic duty, insisted that should get off the road.
Excerpts of her account:
"The policewoman standing in front controlling the traffic kept shouting at us. And so Maduka who was driving, tried to explain to her that the car bumper was stuck, but she insisted that we should get out of the way.
"She kept shouting and raising hell. I was wearing my NYSC uniform at the time, so I walked towards her. Surprisingly, she pushed me back and pulled out her weapon (a baton) and hit me on my face three times.
"The first one knocked my glasses off my face while the rest hit parts of my face which resulted in instant bleeding
In the chaos that followed the assault, other policemen arrived at the scene.
One of the policemen allegedly called Maduka a thief, after which decided to "block the entire road causing traffic".
Eventually, they found their way to Makinde police station, in Mafoluku, Oshodi, where the assaulting officer is from.
Justice Served?
A female superior officer at the police station attempted to settle the matter.
"Justina, the policewoman who assaulted me finally came in for questioning. Their boss proceeded to ask her to explain what had happened.
"The policewoman then began to lie, saying that Maduka and I had beat her up, and that we took her police cap and removed buttons from her uniform.
"After Justina’s stories, her superior could tell that she was lying. And so she ordered David to put Justina in a police cell."
Perhaps unsatisfied with the conclusion, Odachi has said she would seek legal redress.
"We still intend to take proper legal action against Justina because she may have been brutalizing others and getting away with it.
"We want her to face the consequences of her actions.”
